Johnny J. Johnson, Jr. and Emily Tomlinson's daughter Gertrude "Gertie," born on February 2, 1899, was a minor when her father died in 1915. She lived with her mother and brothers and sisters in Hilliard  until her mother passed away in 1921. Gertie Johnson and Boe Peacock did not have any children. For a few years, beginning in 1942, Gertie operated the small grocery store belonging to the Peacock family. Boe continued working for the Jacksonville Terminal Company until he retired in the early 1960s. On July 21, 1965, shortly after he retired, Boe died. He is buried in the Greenlawn Garden Mausoleum in Jacksonville. The following is a copy of Boe's obituary that appeared in the Thursday, July 22, 1965, edition of TheFloridaTimes Union, a Jacksonville newspaper.
